The chain of knowledge provides a feast for the fearless

Knowledge is power. Power breeds confidence. Confidence inspires leadership that faces issues head-on, identifies problems so that they can be solved, and listens to solutions from the best available source of information. More often than not, that “best source” is frontline employees.

A strong chain of knowledge is one of the golden keys that allow a leader to think outside the box and allow effective change and improvement.

For some managers, however, chewing on unfiltered feedback from frontline employees is like competing in some organizational version of Fear Factor. They might ask, “What will I have to swallow?” in terms of employee complaints or lack of regard for the processes in place.

It’s time for them to adapt and adopt a Fear-less Factor policy: Feed on feedback. When you allow and encourage unfiltered information to surface, you are opening the door to a Spectator-Free Workplace™ and ushering in a constructive climate of change.

Effective 2-Way Communication is a business driver. Today's employees want access to managers, and they want their voices heard. What’s more, the effective and fearless leader will want to listen. Open-door/open-mind leadership encourages everyone to contribute ideas, innovations, better practices, solutions to problems.

To lead your workforce and your business to prime position within a competitive world, you need to know exactly where they are now. We call it a light-bulb moment, because being in the dark about workplace reality is unacceptable. To shed some meaningful light you need a fearless assessment.

You’ll see something new on the bottom cover of this month’s “Spectator-Free Workplace™.”  There’s a light bulb, serving as an introduction to a new page that offers a free assessment from L.M. Dulye & Co. It’s a conduit to unfiltered employee feedback from your own employees. Basically, it’s a painless way to go fearless.

This assessment is just one way to start the process of receiving information from the front. A base of data gives leaders a golden link for that chain of knowledge, power, confidence and improvement – and ultimately a Spectator-Free Workplace™.

Feedback is truly a feast for the fearless.
