Rich
Palmay
Senior Strategic Consultant
Rich Palmay has been
involved with communications, media relations and community relations
programs for more than 20 years. He has held leadership positions in several
leading companies, beginning with AIL Systems, Inc. in Deer Park, New
York, a division of Cleveland's Eaton Corporation. In the early '90s,
he was recruited by General Electric at its Government Electronic Systems
Division in Moorestown, New Jersey, where he played an important role
in managing and communicating change to employees - and improving the
business' communications processes.
Over the next nine
years, Rich had the opportunity to experience and communicate more change,
by participating as a key communicator through the consolidation of the
defense industry and three landmark mergers of large corporations - and
their associated cultures, including Martin Marietta and Lockheed Martin.
He concluded his corporate career as director of Communications for one
of Lockheed Martin's largest and most successful businesses, where he
worked closely with employee teams, facilitating their growth, and getting
out of their way, when necessary. The business ultimately earned several
industry honors, including being named one of "America's Ten Best Plants,"
by Industry Week magazine in its annual competitive assessment
of American manufacturers, the New Jersey Quality Achievement Award, as
well as two consecutive entries for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality
Award.
Rich left Lockheed
Martin in 2000 to pursue a consulting career in internal communications
and public relations with L.M. Dulye & Co. He has held leadership positions
in the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey for a number of years,
and is a past member of its board or directors, chairman of its annual
business expo for five years and former vice chairman of its member services
division and charitable foundation. He is also a member of the board of
directors for the United Way of Burlington County, the board of Trustees
of the Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Ambulatory Board of the Virtua
Health System.
Rich graduated magna
cum laude from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona with a bachelor's
degree in Journalism. During his professional career, he has participated
in a number of management development courses at Lockheed Martin, as well
as GE's Management Institute at Crotonville.
His wife, Noreen
is a labor and delivery nurse at one of New Jersey's busiest hospitals.
They have two active children and Rich has been fortunate to share his
passion for the game of ice hockey with his son. He has coached his son's
teams for the last five years and is now an assistant coach at the junior
varsity level. Rich continues to compete in a men's league in his town
of Medford, New Jersey. And, yes, those are his original teeth.
