Dan Clemens
Senior Strategic Consultant
Dan Clemens has worked for several Fortune 500 companies, helping leaders and employees communicate more effectively up, down and across the organization. An expert facilitator, he’s led implementation of L.M. Dulye & Co.’s engagement practices—particularly, Employee Action Teams-- in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations and several support organizations. His warm personality and expert knowledge, coupled with a willingness to listen and understand, earns him the respect of both leadership and team members.
Dan also takes the lead on developing communications strategy and tactics, helping executives and front-line employees use scorecards to measure the effectiveness of communications performance. He’s fluent in process improvement methodology and how to use communication to support Lean/Six Sigma efforts across organizations. He’s also a dynamic trainer and effective career coach.
Prior to joining L.M. Dulye & Co., Dan was Strategic Communications Manager for US West, a Fortune 100 telecommunications company, where he led the internal communications efforts in the US West - Qwest Communications merger. While keeping employees informed about merger progress, he created opportunities for employees to channel feedback, concerns and questions to senior leadership.
Another of his key responsibilities was to organize and manage the Chairman’s leadership conference – a twice-a-year gathering of the top 250 executives at US West for discussion of goals, strategy and direction. He also planned, executed and tracked performance of internal and employee communications programs.
Dan also developed internal communications programs and conducted media relations for First Data Corporation, Western Union and Columbia/HCA. He started his professional career in sales and subsequently spent several years writing and editing trade magazines in the telecommunications industry.
Dan has a Master of Humanities degree from the University of Colorado at Denver. His undergraduate work is in Speech Communication at Colorado State University. An avid baseball fan and hiker, he recently completed his fourth marathon and lives in Castle Rock, Colorado with his wife Bev and their two children.
